A one-day festival where learning looks like play
The Learning Game Playground is a hands-on festival in Melbourne built around one idea: games can do serious work.
Not worksheets disguised as games. Not “fun at the end if there’s time.”
Actual games. Designed, tested, argued over, and played properly.
You’ll spend the day at tables playing learning games of all kinds. Some are teacher-made. Some are student-made. Some are indie. Some are commercially published. All of them are trying to do something interesting with learning.
In between games, there are short talks. Tight, practical, and grounded. People sharing what they’ve made, what worked, what didn’t, and what they’re still figuring out.
There are stalls with games you can buy. A loan desk where you can grab a game and try it immediately. And a room full of people who care about learning enough to experiment with it.
This is not a conference.
It’s not a passive sit-and-listen day.
It’s a playground.
